About the Artist

 

Diane has just relocated her studio to Englewood/Port Charlotte, Florida. 
Her formal art education was at North Western Michigan College in Traverse City, but it wasn't until the mid 80's during her first trip to the Caribbean that she fell in love with the vibrant colors of the tropics and rediscovered her art.  At one time she resided on St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands where she painted in her studio overlooking the Caribbean Sea.  Her many years of island hopping throughout the West Indies enabled her to capture the unforgettable "Colors of the Caribbean" she is known for today.

 

Diane’s work has been exhibited at Estate Whim, St. Croix; St. George Botanical Gardens, St. Croix; Island WeBe Gallery, St. Croix;  Millinneum Art Show, Palm Coast, Florida; The Von Braun Center, Huntsville, Alabama; HAL Gallery, Huntsville Alabama; and here on her web gallery at www.DianeKingGallery.com.  Her painting White Umbrellas was featured on the cover of Valley Planet Magazine in the May - June 2008 edition.

 

The Artist experiments in a variety of mediums, but works mostly in acrylics and soft pastels, although, you can sometimes find a rare watercolor or piece of painted silk in her collections.

 

Diane's highly collectible art can be found in numerous private collections throughout the Caribbean, United States, South America and Europe.
